Humans in the Office (HITO)
At Changemaker Jobs we want to make sure that we aren’t just helping the charity and social enterprise sector fill jobs – we want to make sure the people working those roles thrive as well! That’s why we are very excited to partner with Humans in the Office (HITO).
HITO have developed a 12-part curriculum for charity sector professionals, focusing on those in the first 10 years of their careers.
The courses are designed to help you analyse your workplace, figure out what’s expected of you, help develop the culture of your employer and take the next steps in your career development. If you’re thinking about a career change into the third sector, HITO’s courses could help prepare you.
Unlike standard courses, they are designed to be entertaining and fun as well as informational and are full of stories and ideas. They are made to be really inclusive and not just to benefit the most privileged in the workplace.
The curriculum covers the ‘soft skills’ that early career professionals might need to thrive in the 21st Century office. They are delivered by former teachers and social sector leaders, including everything from giving and receiving feedback, to writing for clarity, overcoming imposter syndrome, presenting your ideas and using power for good in the workplace. The people behind it include: Ruth Ibegbuna (RECLAIM, Rekindle, Roots, 2027, former teacher), Pari Dhillon (former teacher, Social Justice Collective), Debbie Penglis (Future First, Cambridge City Council, School 21), Joaquin Figaredo (Boston Consulting Group, Be The Earth), Jake Hayman (Future First, 2027, Ten Years’ Time, Impatience Earth).
If you think your employer should be providing access to HITO for you and other team members or if you’d like to purchase licences for your staff or are simply keen to better prepare yourself for your next dream role, then drop us an email and we can connect you with the HITO team.
